About a month ago, Tourism Langley sent local photographer, Jennifer Kirk, out to take photos of various Langley locations and activities, and Glen Valley Stables got to be the trail horse part of the assignment. We had a great time with Jennifer. She was very professional and took some amazing shots. Thanks to Tourism Langley for suggesting us, and thanks also to Jennifer for a wonderful shoot and some great photos!
This was such a beautiful clump of Shaggy Mane mushrooms that I just had to get off to take a picture. It was a couple of weeks ago - I'm sure the recent frost has ended mushroom season for the year. But they're pretty when they're in "bloom"!
A few weeks ago, I took Straws to the Cowboy Challenge at Fast Times Farm. He was a star! He worried a little bit about some of the obstacles but once I assured him he wasn't going to die, he did them all. Thanks for a fun day, Straws!
It may not look like much but planting two front feet on a narrow board that's hard to see is surprisingly difficult. Straws looks quite proud of himself for having found it!
The back feet were a little trickier than the front....
Nice job, Straws! Thanks for a fun day, Amanda Bentley - and thanks for setting everything up! See you again soon, I'm sure
It's that time of year again! Several of our horses have gone to their winter homes but we still have a few good ones left on the farm. So if you're looking for a private ride - say, two or three people - then Glen Valley Stables is the perfect trail riding outfit for you. We don't charge if you have to cancel because of bad weather (though we're up for riding in the rain if you are!) and you can be guaranteed that it will just be the two or three of you out on the ride. No strangers. Except us, of course, and we're not strange at all! We look forward to hearing from you. Saddle up!
Here's where we share photos and memories of some of our guests and the horses they get to call their own for an hour or two. Saddle up!
