Yumi is visiting Canada for the second time to work on her English skills and this time, she decided to work on her riding skills, too. She came for a one-hour ride last week and then, this week, she came back for two hours, which meant she got to do the full loop around Campbell Valley Park. We enjoyed her as much as she enjoyed her ride on Freckles! And thanks also to Marie, her host here in Canada - Marie brings many of her Japanese guests to ride with us, and we really appreciate it. Thanks, Marie!
Maelle is visiting from France and wanted to ride - she packs her riding breeches wherever she goes! These photos were taken towards the end of our 2-hour ride today. Freckles wanted to eat but photos were more important! (He got to graze a little bit later, lucky guy.) Thanks for the great ride, Maelle!
Mike loves horses but doesn't get to ride much in the desert around Las Vegas home. And when he does find a horse to ride, it's usually just a slow, walk-only hour or so in the saddle. Well, yesterday he had what he said was the best ride of his life! He and his wife, Irene, celebrated their 6th wedding anniversary in the saddle (though we hope he also took her for a nice dinner!). Looking forward to seeing you both the next time you're here visiting family. Mike is on Traveller and Irene is on Honey, taking a break at the snack spot.
Gene's seven grandchildren - all girls - were here this summer. They sure love their grandpa and he loves them! Thanks to Ehsan Shokrgozar for the great photos
Our friend Connie (middle, left), along with her sisters Clara (front) and Rhonda (back) and niece, Kaitlyn (right), saddled up for a ride with us yesterday afternoon. Kaitlyn rides regularly but the three sisters were novice riders. Being athletic, they all settled in very quickly and we had a great ride. See you again soon, we hope!
It's great to have so much shade in south Langley's Campbell Valley Park for the horses during this hot spell. It's nice and cool in the trees, both here and riding along the trails. This was taken yesterday afternoon between rides - they're clearly enjoying their down time! From left to right, the horses are Honey, Annie, Straws, Traveller and Pilgrim
Here's where we share photos and memories of some of our guests and the horses they get to call their own for an hour or two. Saddle up!
