This is Charlie Cache, one of the seasoned trail riding horses we got this past fall from Todd Mountain Guest Ranch. He's a gentle old soul with years of guest ranch experience. Tracey, from Todd Mountain, bought him 8 or 9 years ago from Charlie Coldwell of the Jesmond Ranch. Gene and Charlie are life long friends so when Cache arrived, Gene called him Charlie in honour of his old friend. I call him Charlie Cache, making him our only horse with a last name! Charlie said he bought him from the Gang Ranch, so he's a horse with a pretty impressive work history. We're looking forward to having him with us on the trail this spring. Saddle up!
It was such a beautiful day that Gene and I went down to the park for a ride, even though we didn't have any guests booked. Most of the park is very green but this is the north side, and these bushes are in the shade of trees that keep the sunlight blocked at all times. The frost has built up beautifully on them. I was pleased to get this nice shot of Gene on his mare, Annie.
Here's where we share photos and memories of some of our guests and the horses they get to call their own for an hour or two. Saddle up!
